Could you tell me which one is right among the following sentences? Thank you in advance.

1. In hurdling, runners go 110 meters over hurdles.
2. In hurdling, runners run 110 meters over hurdles.
3. In hurdling, runners sprint 110 meters, jumping over hurdles.

Grammatically, yes, but 'runners run' is not very good style.
