I could not find the verb gorke in the dictionary. What does it mean, to be high on drugs? Thanks

Couldn't it be a typo for "gorged"? (= full of) Could you provide the context, please?

I thought of that too, it fits into the context. The victim was full of drug, but..If anyone has ever heard for such a verb, let me know, please.

Pieanne, thank you very much

I suspect it means either "high" or "sick". I believe the verb is 'gork', not 'gorke', a slang term from *** Only Really Knows.

I think it must be "gorge" meaning "eat gluttonously " but it would be good if we saw the passage.

gorked does not refer to being on drugs - check out this site for an explanation: http://semanticcompositions.typepad.com/index/

I guess it means "unconscious" because of a large dose of drug.

Medical Slang - *** Only Really Knows,

Esp used for patients with severe head trama, in a coma or persistant vegetative state.

"He got pushed into traffic and slammed into the pavement." "He's GORKed, huh?" "Looks like."

"This guy was shot in the head. He's never going to come out of his coma. He's a gork now."

Anon, thanks for your response.

But the order of the words is really odd - Only *** Really Knows makes more sense. The "only really" doesn't make sense.

You'll note this post is really old, so I'm not sure the original poster will be around anymore to receive it. If you have great ideas about vocabulary and idiom, it might be best to look for more recent or active posts, okay?

GORKED is a slang medical word for "anesthetized". it was used during the 1970's but because it sounds like "dork", it's not been used nowadays.
