Goodbye, John Paul

I was often moved by the essential goodness and kindness of Pope John Paul. Certainly, I didn't always agree with some of his positions, nor am I a Catholic (I am an atheist), but his message of kindness and tolerance conveyed not just by his words but by how he lived his life is much needed in the world.

Oh, I doubt it would be worth the shock value, in terms of what would likely come along with it. The ban on birth control was not really "his" position it was the Church's position and has been for many, many years. As were his condemnations of unjust wars.
