Good or well

Could you tell me if it is OK to use "good" in the following sentence?

-He played good.

Some people might say this, e.g. in some BrE dialects, but it is not standard English. Instead say "He played well".

By the way, in England the expression "The boy done good", meaning that someone did well, or played well, is used in comic parody of the kind of non-standard English that might be heard from managers of football teams.
