Good or Bad thesis statement?

I just want to know if this is a good or a bad thesis statement for my history class?
Being a prime minister is being 100% dutiful towards your country, hence John A Mac Donald was a drunk who lead his way through his political career by persuasion.

The use of "hence" to link the two phrases is not logical.
