Good neighbour

Hello,

It is a part of my paragraph. The problem is I use past and present in my sentences.

Second, I feel safer when my neighbours are nice people. For example, when Khomeini came to Iran, he ordered that it has been the deuty of every Muslim to keep an eye on his neighbour and if he knows who is apostate, a good Muslim will inform the Islamic forces. A good neighbour won't turn you into Islamic forces in the name of God.

Thank you for your response.

I'm guessing that you're asking for someone to proofread/edit your exerpt, but if that's not the case, please tell me. Here are the changes I'm going to make no matter what because of the way I was taught English and the way I speak it. I changed "I" and "you" to third person perspectives and "won't" to "will not" because my teacher insists on it, but you can change it back if you want.

  • The "however" sounds like it goes there to me because your second-to-last sentence contrasted with the last one.
  • The "has been" should be "was" if Khomeini made a change in the duty of every Muslim by ordering that every neighbor keep an eye on his neighbor.
