Good judgement on someone's part

Hi

Could you please explain what he is trying to say?

(His wife sees him in a room with another woman)

Husband: You don't understand. What you say was bad judgement on her part and good judgement on my part. I pushed her away.

Wife: Yes, eventually--with a big dopey grin on your face.

Thanks,

Tom

I think you typed that wrong, and it should be " What you saw was bad judgement …."

Her bad judgment was believing that her sexual advances would be welcome, and his good judgment was to reject them.
