It is my understanding that iPhone is a name of a device basically and an iPhone is a device itself and the iPhone is a type of many devices in the market.

Sorry but two more things I have to ask your favor.

1) Can I also say, "I want to buy iPhone"?

2) I came up with the context that I think is good for "an iPhone" and "the iPhone." Do they look OK to you? Also, would you provide another example you would use "iPhone" instead of "an/the iPhone."
