Can one say "good evening" when leaving someone? Or is it only a greeting when meeting someone?

Hi,
Doing that would be very formal and old-fashioned.
Instead, we sometimes say rather casually, Have a good evening.
If it's not early in the evening, we sometimes say say 'Good night'.
