Good books on English grammar
Hi everyone.
After having bought a good Stephen King book, my passion for writing horror stories has suddenly come flooding back. However, the one thing holding me back from writing the story I would love to tell is the painful fact that I don't know even the basics of English grammar.
I am 19 years old, and live in London, England. Unfortunately, I have long forgotten everything I learnt in school, and could honestly not tell you what an Adjective is.
I consider myself very good at writing and phrasing things, in comparison with most other people I know. But, I lack the basic knowledge needed to write something meaningful, well-structured and most certainly "correct" in terms of English grammar.
I feel like I am starting all over again, which is fine. I am willing to learn.
Does anyone know of a good, extensive book that I could read on the subject? Your help would be much appreciated.
Also: if someone could please point out the grammatical errors made in this posting, I'd appreciate that, too. It looks pretty good to me, but I'm sure there is something wrong with it. I would be interested in knowing what.

There are a wealth of grammar books available, Kingworm: just have a look in your nearest reputable bookstore. However, if this is true-- I consider myself very good at writing and phrasing things, in comparison with most other people I know. -- then you have little need of a grammar textbook.
