Do the 'goo-goo-ga-joob' in the Beatles' 'Warlus' and 'coo-coo-ca-choo' in the Simon & Gar***el's 'Mrs. Robbinson' have something to do with each other? What does this stuff mean? What is the correct spelling?

What a good question! I have always wondered what it is they say in the Beatles 'Walrus'

Great song but really weird line - 'Goo goo blah blah whatever'

To be honest, I really can't see it being connected with another song but I'd love to know what they were on when the worte that!

all in all in the style of both, it's just pish posh potpourri.. Lots of lil made up things with lil semblance that was picked up here and there by Lennon and his astute observations. Hear something fancy, he'd write it down. Read something interesting, he'd work with it, sculpt it into his mind.. and with the later psychedellic stages, it was all about keeping people guessing and talking in such a slang that commoners could not understand.

the Walrus was perceived in some cultures to mean death.

The way I uderstand it is that Paul Simon used it as a tribute to Lennon. I have also been told that after Lennon's death Paul Simon has not allowed anyone who has re-recorded the song to use that line.

the line "goo goo ga joob" from I Am The Walrus comes from James Joyce's Finnegan's Wake, and it I thnik it is the last thing Humpty Dumpty says after he falls from the wall

for one thing i can explain the song by the beatles "i am the walrus"

This song helped fuel the rumor that Paul McCartney was dead. It's quite a stretch, but theorists found these clues in the lyrics, none of which are substantiated:

"Waiting for the van to come" means the 3 remaining Beatles are waiting for a police van to come. "Pretty little policemen in a row" means policemen did show up.
"Goo goo ga joob" were the final words that Humpty Dumpty said before he fell off the wall and died.
During the fade, while the choir sings, a voice says "Bury Me" which is what Paul might have said after he died.
During the fade, we hear someone reciting the death scene from Shakespeare's play "King Lear."

In addition, a rumor circulated that Walrus was Greek for "corpse" (it isn't) in Greek, so that is what people thought of Paul being the Walrus. Also, in the video, the walrus was the only dark costume
