Gonna vs Will

which one is more common? gonna or will
I'm gonna go to school
I will go to school

Apart from in chatrooms and private texts/emails, 'gonna' is not an appropriate form to use in writing; use 'going to'. Probably 'am going to go' is more common than 'will go', but they are not always both appropriate. In some situations only one of the two may be natural.

I was mistaken. COCA has the following numbers of citations:

I am going to go - 72
I'm going to go - 1,193
Total -1, 265

I will go - 629
I'll go 2,942
Total: 3,571
