Gone completely rowdy

Hi

Are these lines natural English? Any suggestions please?

The principal was horrified to see that the students had gone completely rowdy in the past eight months he was abroad. There was total lack of discipline and the teachers were rather indifferent. Misbehavior was the order of the day in the left wing of the college.
