Grammar

going/coming

I'm at home talking on the phone to a friend who's at his home about sailing and he offers to take me after lunch. So I ask him:

Are your parents going with us too? Or

Are your parents coming with us too?

THanks!

Why not "going"? That is weird. I don't understand why "come". Thank you.

Either will work, but we usually view such actions from the perspective of ourselves and our interlocutor: hence, 'come'.
