going/coming

Can you say to people already in India:

I'm coming back to India next month. Or does it have to be:

I'm going back to India next month.

Thank you!

I'm assuming you're not in India when you say this. It should be 'going', but either way sounds acceptable to me. CJ

I've asked this question a few times and everyone else has said it's supposed to be I'm coming back to India.

The reason is because I'm coming towards them.

I agree. The underlying idea is that you are coming towards the people in India.

That makes no sense to me. You might just as well have said that you were going towards them.
