Can you say:

I'm going to the optometrist's. Or does it have to be:

I'm going to the optomestrist.

I'm going to the optomestrist.

I hate to question you like this, because even on google.com there's no I'm goi

I would say they are both correct and, personally, I'd use the optometrist's. It could be a regional thing. Around where I live, we would usually say it with the 's.

I would use the 's on all of them because it's a shortened form of:

I'm going to the doctor's office.

The 's shows possession, whose office. We just don't actually say the word "office."

But I hear people using "I'm going to the doctor" as well. Either is correct, I believe.

You wouldn't say, "I'm visiting the doctor's." Visiting would be used for going to a
