Goes/ are ?

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask you for help. I am interested how can I explain the difference in forming a question while using auxiliary verbs do/does and are/is. E.g. When I give a sentence to translate insted of saying Does he like chocholate? student says Is he like chocholate? OR Do you want to there? student says Are you want to go there?

How shouldn I exlapin to him the difference in usage.

Thank you in advance

They should use do / does when the tense is simple present, whereas they should use is / am / are when

the tense is present continuous.
