God stands by me!!!

I am a songwriter and since english is not my mother tongue I would like to ask a question here:

can I sing "God stands me by", if I need to have "by" at the end of the sentence or is it a huge mistake so I better rewrite the song????

Unfortunately yes, swapping "me" and "by" is a very big leap of artistic licence. It would not make sense, and would have to be "*** stands by me".
