Is this sentence grammatically correct? How can I change it for sounding more natural?


God, please forgive me for telling these outright lies out of my reluctance.

This sounds like a prayer, ie you are asking *** to do something.

We also say eg I did something terrible. May *** forgive me! Here, you are not talking directly to ***. You are expressing your hope that *** will forgive you.
