go versus come

Say your friend lives in New York and you live in Ohio. You are in Ohio. You will visit your friend. He or she asks you " How will you come to New York?" or would he or she say " How will you go to New York". Is it go or come in this instance? Would you reply for eg I will come to New York by bus? Or would you say I will go to New York by bus? Cheers Fulvio
