Go to/go on/have/do a flat viewing?

Hey!

My question is actually twofold.

First: What (phrasal) verbs go with 'flat viewing'? I tried to answer this question myself with Google Ngram viewer, but I was unsucessful... Or is it preferred/correct at all to say 'view a flat'?

Second: I came up with 'flat viewing' via Linguee (bilingual dictionary). Does anyone know if this term is used in North America too, since actually a flat would be referred to as an apartment? If not, what is to correct word for the visit you pay a prospective landlord before you sign a tenancy agreement?

Thanks!
