Go to toilet? loo?

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum. English is not my mother tongue. I got a question on spoken English. We always say " go to toilet". But do you think it is too general to say it. What is the informal way to say it? To urinate? to piss? How about the other thing to do...? Is there any english word commonly used to say it???

Of course, it is informal. As I mentioned before, English is not my mother tongue. I would like to know how the native English speaker will say, other than "go to toilet, or the loo". "Go to urinate or ****?" or "Go to excrete *****?" Sorry....If I make it so irritating..

Or everyone just say "go to toilet" and not specifically say what "activity" they go to do in the toilet...

Hi Slave 88,
You can say any of these:
Use the restroom, Answer the call of nature, Take a bio-break.

I guess you are learning British English? 99% of the time people say 'go to the loo' or 'go to the toilet' or if in a public place 'go to the ladies/gents'.We pretty much never feel any impulse to tell people exactly what we'll be doing in there. A lot of the time this would be very offensive or odd behaviour over here, although sometimes people will talk about 'needing a pee' or 'going for a pee'

Yeah, normally I always say "go to toilet or restroom".

Currently, I am starting to teach my 3-yrs old son English. I really don't know what is the "word" I should use to tell him to "excrete *****"??? in the toilet.

Any suggestion?

I used to tell my children - when they were younger! - to "do a pooh" or "do a pee" in the toilet/ loo ... (= informal British English).

Poo and pee (or wee) are the words usually used with children.

I think that you can also say "go to the wash room" or "to the powder room".

at least you're not saying directly what you're going to do there.

You can also say " I need to spend a penny".
