Go swimming and go to a swimming lesson

Hi teachers~

I am confused about the use of go swimming and go to a swimming lesson.

My understanding is that 'go swimming' is 'swim for fun.' but if I go to a swimming pool for a lesson (doesn't matter i like it or not), I have to say "I go to a swimming lesson every morning."

Looking forward to your reply~~
