go shopping in the neiborhood

Can you "go shopping in the neiborhood"?

Is the following sentence correct?

When I came into the room, my grandmother was sewing and
my mother was about to go shopping in the neighborhood.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Or you could just say 'go shopping', unless you want to stress 'locally'.

Thanks for the help, Clive. I noticed I had omitted the verb in the question sentence. Sorry.
