Go sailing OR Go on sailing?

Hi,

I would say "Go sailing".

But is it wrong if someone says "I usually go on sailing"???

Thanks.

That would not be correct in most contexts. Go on doing something = continue to do something. Usually when a storm is coming, most people headed in to port.

Yes. It's wrong except as GG explained. All the -ing activities come directly after go without a preposition in between.

go sailing, go walking, go jogging, go running, go swimming, go skating, go skiing, go skydiving, go dancing, ...
