Go out for a movie

Hi all,

I'm new here. Emotion: smile

I'd like to know what is meant by "going out for a movie". Does it mean "going to a cinema to watch a movie", or does it mean "going out to buy/rent a movie"? Could it be both?

If I say to you "I went out for a movie yesterday", how would you understand my statement?

Many thanks! Emotion: smile
