Go into, go up and go down

What is the difference among "go into", "go up" or "go down"?

How do you use each of them when you direct someone the way?

Thanks,

Ryo

Hi, Let me offer a few examples for you to consider. eg Walk across the street and then go into that building on the corner. eg go up in the elvator eg go down in the elevator eg go down the street eg go up the street Sometimes 'up ' and 'down' can refer to a hill.

  • But sometimes their use for a street is rather arbitrary.

When you say "walk into the back", is that expression used only in the building?

Hi,

That's an odd thing to say.

Maybe go into the back, referring to the back area of a buildng.
