"Go get it" vs "Go and get it"

Hi,

When I say "Go get a toy you want", do I mean "Go and get a toy...." or "Go to get a toy..." or something else?

I guess both are pretty simillar just in terms of meaning.

And I'd like to know which one is more formal.

Thanks!
