go fifty-fity/go halves ?

Dear teachers ,

I wonder if "go halves with some on /in something is the same in meaning as go fifty-fifty with some on /in something ".

Please correct if the following for me if they are not correct:I don't know when to use " on "and when to use " in "

a/ I want to go fifty-fifty/halves with him on/in the taxi fare.

b/ He and I will go fifty-fifty/halves in /on responsibility for the damage caused to the director's car.

c/ We will go fifty-fifty/halves in /on the joys and sorrows in life

If possible , Please kindly give me some examples of go fifty-fifty/halves

I'm assuming your question is about my remarks on example b/. I probably should have researched this (probably still should) but I believe people use on when they're talking about paying money for something and they use in when they're talking about everything else, such as the joys and sorrows in life.

Personally, I've never use
