Go far / debit

Hi guys,

When "go far" is used by itself without any preposition, like a sentence below,

does it still mean "being a help"?

[ Local performing arts clubs are also under pressure,

and it will go far if we keep some of them from shutting their doors.]

And is it alright to understand "debit" as "withdrawing"?

Thanks~
