hello, what does it mean when something goes down a storm? Example: David Beckham bought his wife a wineyard. "The wineyard went down a storm with Victoria," said a source.

Never heard it. If it's Beckham it's probably British. Sounds like she didn't like it.

There are a couple of similar expressions. Mary Poppins - "Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down." "I just couldn't swallow it!" "It's going down!", meaning an expected scenario is about to play out.

On the contrary, it means that the vinyard was a great success with Victoria Beckham. She was extremely pleased with the gift.

The full context (!!) would have eliminated any confusion. Here it is

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “The Beckhams became wine buffs when David played in Spain. The vineyard went down a storm with Victoria, she was delighted.” (italics added)
