Go down

"In years to come, years before he went down at three a.m. ... in a bar ... there'd be other killings, other bodies." quoted from Drive/ Sallis.

I cannot be sure about what happened to him. Can someone tell me? Thanks.

Could it be possible that he got injured or something?

I agree with Clive. He was killed.

We use the phrasal verb "put down" to mean euthanize (among other definitions.).

Hi,

In a context where the writer goes on to talk about 'other killings', 'other bodies', it suggests that he died.

Clive, the other dead bodies are the ones who he will kill in years between.

Hi,

Between what?

Sorry for confusing you. Between now (when the scene goes down) and years after (when he will go down in a bar).

Hi,

As I said, it sounds like it means 'he died', 'he was killed'.
