What if it's not an imperative sentence? We can get contracted form GO DO IT from the verb GO + infinitive
GO TO DO SOMETHING.

I need to go and finish my work (connecting two paired verbs) = I need to go to finish my job (infinitive acts as an object of GO, purpose) = I need to go finish my job (contracted form)

are they all equal?
