Go by train, go by walking

Mr. A to his colleagues (from office while getting off) : I'm leaving, bye friends.
Colleagues : Bye, are you going to go by bus or walking?
Mr. A: I will go by walking as my home is just 15 minutes away. I don't need to take a bus.
One of colleagues : Oh, good, but I do go by my bike though my house is just 10 minutes far.

Please correct my sentences.

Thanks a lot Clive.

I wonder if the sentences below are correct or not which I have framed on the basis of your explanation.

I usually take walking for a short/small distance, but if it's far away I take either the bus or ride my bike.
I don't take bus for such a short distance. I like walking.
Do you want a lift in my bike? No, I will walk. My house is just near.
