Thank you Feebs11.

I went by my 1250th posts. Is this correct?

I went by the hard days of sorrow after her death.

Do you now think my sentences are correct?

No.

'Went by' in the sense of 'went past' is only really used in physical situations. I went by the shop on the way to work.

Your other uses of went by mean 'judging by'.
