Essay & Composition Writing

GMAT

I recently started to write at least one essay everyday to enhance my writing skills. The following essay is written on GMAT and requires proofreading.

What bothers me is the GMAT. It is an aptitude test taken by students those who want to study in Business School. Although it does not guarantee a student to be fit for a certain University, it is used as an effective tool by the Universities to examine a student's quantitative and verbal ability. There is no pass or fail in GMAT. The requirement of GMAT score differs from Universities to Universities. The average score of GMAT who qualified in the top Universities is 750. I have a strong desire to get GMAT score of 650, but I am very weak in Mathematics. Despite my competency in English, I am not fully confident that I will write better essay in the GMAT test.

Please help me correct the above brief essay if you find any errors.

Best Wishes,

What bothers me is the GMAT. It is an aptitude test taken by students those [either "students" or "those" not both] who want to study in Business School. Although it does not guarantee that a student is to be fit [saying "suitable" rather than "fit" might be better here] for a certain University, it is used as an effective tool used by the Universities to examine a student's quantitative and verbal ability.

Thank you very much RayH for proofreading, but why the following sentence is in present form, why not in past form?

The average score of those of GMAT who qualify for admission to qualified in the top Universities is 750.

Given that your paragraph is largely written in the present, it would be distracting to the reader to suddenly switch to the past for one idea, especially without a good reason. After all, the
