Mr M is quite right about the usual way that the word 'glue' is used

The alternative point might be that Wikipedia currently lists 41 glues (I counted them)

I grant your point. As a postscript:

I wondered if ''oxygen' was a genuine non-count noun, but there is O-16 and O-18, so there are two oxygens

There is probably no noun that is non-count in the sense that I was thinking of. Let me know if you think of one!

I can think of no uncountable noun that cannot (and occasionally does not) become countable through reclassification.
