Gloom/Gloomy

Hey teachers.

She emerged wearing a very gloom/gloomy and depressed expression.

Is this fine?

Do gloom/gloomy and depressed go well together even though they basically mean the same thing?

Could gloom/gloomy stand on its own and mean depressed?
