Glocal

Glocal, the words global and local in one, "taking a global view of the market, but adjusted to local considerations". I know it's used as a business jargon, and it's not a very old word, (I think it got popular in the 90's). Is this a word that's still used a lot?

And you can't blame American business for this either - I've never seen that "word" before.

I heard the word "glocal" first in 2002 (I still remember it because I was really puzzled), and came across it a few more times. The context was not business, but sustainable (local) development, where it was used as sort of slogan meaning "think global, act local."
