Globalization is a global phenomenon caused by the advent of mass communication and transport, and it is sometimes argued that this trend will certainly lead to the loss of cultural identity. I do not completely deny this idea, however I suppose it is one of the best ways to promote the culture.
There are some reasons why globalisation may cause the loss of the culture. The first significant rationale is that globalisation allows people to migrate to another countries, watch foreign TV channels, use their products as well as expose to their culture. In other words, people may approach to foreign culture like eating the national food or wearing national clothes on a regular basis and get familiar with this. The consequence of this issue is that these people may forget the origins and culture of their motherland. Another justification is that many governments do not have any measures to protect and spread the national cultural values before the extensive of other culture due to the economic profits and the higher living standards.
On the other hand, I would argue that globalisation give opportunities to spread national cultural values all over the world. Thanks to the mass media, including magazines, social networks and so on, many cultural values like traditional music or cuisine are now well-known. For example, two famous newspapers: BBC and CNN have introduced Vietnamese cuisines like pho and banh mi, and these foods become so popular worldwide. In addition to this, because of globalisation, the young can make friends with foreigners easier, and tell them about the unique national culture of the fatherland. This could be a good way to advertising the cultural diversities to the world.
To sum up, I do believe that although globalisation may cause the loss of the national culture, it brings a wide range of chances to spread the culture identity worldwide.
