Globalization

Do you teach the topic "globalization" in your A-level courses? Which books/schoolbooks are available? What would you recommend? Do you know short stories or novels or a play dealing (critically) with the effects of globalization?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards, Juergen

Globalization affects nearly academic dicipline. Everything from economics and politics to literature, language and culture are impacted. You will have to be more specific.

Hello Dan,

I'm asking on behalf of a friend of mine, who is an English teacher here in Berlin (Germany). The Berlin school administration decided, that next year in all A-level English courses the topic has to be "globalization".

Two suggestions are:
The Lexus and The Olive Tree : Understanding Globalization by Thomas L. Friedman
The Clash of Civilizations by Samuel P. Huntington in Foreign Affairs 1993 (an American periodical).
He can also do a search on EBSCOhost or a similar database for articles.
Good luck,
Dan
