Global uGrad personal statement. someone please check

I have always been fascinated by the idea of saving a human life. The feeling of satisfaction it generates is overwhelming and what better way to save lives than becoming a doctor. It has always inspired and motivated me to excel academically and to connect and sympathize with people. I am an ambitious and socially proactive person that loves travelling to new places and making new friends of diverse backgrounds. It allows me to know more about their culture and learn from them. I am also very fond of philosophy and playing football.

After becoming a doctor, I plan to pursue the specialty of infectious diseases as they are still prevalent in our society, unlike rest of the world. I want to create awareness among people from remote areas regarding their effective treatment and prevention and also play a vital role towards betterment of the doctor-patient relationship at community level. I also work as chairman of a student organization that organizes free medical and blood camps in remote areas and also arranges awareness programs for diseases like thalassemia and cancer.

Apart from being a cultural ambassador of my country, spending a semester in US will give me a golden opportunity to visit top teaching hospitals, and meet brilliant doctors to get an insight of their advanced healthcare system, and teaching methodologies followed by their latest techniques of treating diseases. This would groom me to become a successful doctor and equip me with the necessary skill to achieve my ambition and make a change back home.
