' Welcome!' Edie says grandly, holding her arms out so the glitzy fabric falls into dramatic batwings.
Does it mean the writer first thought Edie's dress is glitzy, but when she holds out her arms the batwing sleeves make it look beautiful?
And the second question, what does it mean by she thrusts a cut glass flute my way' Say hello to my husband.'? Does it mean she pushes me by her glass?
The room was illuminated with candles in tall lanterns and elegant glass lamps. The glow of the fire as it moves through a constant loop of vivid LED colors only adds to the ambience of the room.
I don't know if the fire refers to the candles or something else.
