glasses, eyeglasses, spectacles are absolute synonyms.

Glasses (as well as its synonyms) belongs to the class of pluralia tantum - it is plural in form and has no singular counterpart (with the same meaning). The word, as has already been said by the previous poster, is used with the plural verb.
