Glass granade...

TIM: Now, inspired by the explosive nature of what could be called my glass grenade, (magical explosive?)
I'm headed into the desert. Now, on first appearances, this looks like a nice, peaceful
place to spend a morning, but looks can be very deceptive. I'm actually at a police
explosive testing ground to test out some explosives. Well, explosive combinations
to be precise. I've brought some brave, trusting members of the public here to see if they
can guess what will be the effect of surrounding sticks of dynamite with four very different
materials.

No, there is a different experiment in every scene.
The host explains how different substances affect the exploding power
of dynamite. He traps dynamite inside three different casks filled
with water, sand and air.

Well, glass is made from melted sand, so perhaps the dynamite surrounded by sand creates some glass when it explodes?
