glacine?

from the book I'm reading now,

"In such passages, the body's presence is not qualified by the glacine and cutting reflex of his style..." (here, his=Marx's)

I can't find the word "glacine" in any dictionary. What does it mean? Or is it misspelled?

  • I suspect the writer may have misspelt 'glassine', used metaphorically to mean 'clear', or something like that.
