Having enjoyed Mathematics and Physics throughout the course of my school years, I wished to find a course that combined these subjects and accommodated my specific needs, a course that would require an enquiring mind, the solving problems, the analyzing and evaluating of data and the ability to think logically. In my opinion, Electrical and Electronic engineering Engineering fit this requirement. Which is not a random choice. It is a result of profound and long thinking about which field would be the most convenient to my interests, my background, and local society needs. As a developing country, Sudan is in an urgent need for all specialists in almost all majors to lead the building process. Therefore, getting a bachelor degree in this field will give me the opportunity to lead several scientific researches that will hopefully contribute to this area of technology. In addition, the role of electrical engineers become more important. They are the forefront of developing new technologies in different industries such as robotics, transportation, construction and healthcare. Electrical engineering is the blood of innovation.To all of the above reasons, I was keen to go for electrical engineering right from school days.
Graduating with a first class result and having a high work skilled will be my foremost goal. How can I achieve that? In the first year of my undergraduate program, I am planning to get deep understanding to my college subjects, and focus in developing soft skills by doing online courses which will help me in my future study such as; graphic designing, which would help me design things like my Resume, projects, reports, presentations, almost everything. I plan to study 'Machine learning' starting with 'Andrew Ng course'. Also, one of the most things I want to get the hang of it, is to learn how to code and know the basic concept of programming.
In the second year, I am planning to get practical experience of what I already learnt, that will not only help me during my education, but it will surely give me an upper hand when applying for jobs after graduating.
In the third year, I will start doing some self-initiated projects, this will help me to learn and understand the subject better, also inspire me to learn a lot. Besides, conducting researches in my field of study. With the help of the facilities in the university.
In the fourth year, I will seak to join research groups which will help me to exchange ideas and knowledge with other groupmates, and I will continue with carrying out projects, It would also help me invent new machines that will affect the world positively and I would also work on projects that will cater for the problems in electrical energy generation.
Furthermore, when Reading about Electrical and electronic engineering and its specializations, the controls and Automation specialization Attracted me, and I feel Interested about it, It is growing everyday and has a good future. Control is a wide and renewable field that is suitable for any time and place. In addition, There is growing demand for artificially intelligent technologies and autonomous systems and job opportunities in this field are growing.
