Giving up three foot-lamberts

Hi.

I cant understand tho whole below sentence, would you help me please ?

"When you watch through any of the conventional 3-D processes you're giving up three foot-lamberts"

Hi I have googled this and a "foot-lambert" seems to be a measure of how brilliant the image appears on the cinema screen So I think your sentence is saying that, although 3-D gives a different experience, you will be getting a darker image on the screen Regards, Dave

So I think your sentence is saying that, although 3-D gives a different experience, you will be getting a darker image on the screen
