Giving traffic instructions

Hello, everyone.

I have a couple of questions:

-Is it correct to tell someone to stop to the side of the road?

-pull over is rather commanding and, apart from the ploice, is not usually (appropriately) used by ordinary people, right?

Surfer -Is it correct to tell someone to stop to the side of the road? No. You could say "stop at the side of the road".

No. You could say "stop at the side of the road". This is not exactly equivalent to "pull over" though.
