Giving a helping hand

Last Tuesday, Peter was on his way home after lunch. There was a blind standing at the crossroad. She tried crossing the road alone. It was lunchtime. The traffic was heavy. While crossing the road, a car was speeding fast towards her.

When Peter saw the situation / incident, he was very worried (about her) and felt panic. His life was really in jeopardy / at a risk. He quickly ran to her and offered his help (to her). He held her hand gently to cross it.

The girl was very surprised. She knew that Peter was a kind-hearted and caring person. She thanked Peter for giving her a helping hand. / thanked Peter for his help. Peter was happy too because he had done a good deed.

P/s: anyone who can share with me for a god ending?
